Drastic 30% drop in KL crime rate

The crime rate in the city has dropped by 30% in the first two months of the year, thanks to increased police presence in crime hotspots.

Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wira Abu Seman Yusof said there was also a drastic fall in the number of street crimes, with January recording a massive drop of 44.6% and February 40.8%.

'The drastic drop can be attributed to the increased police presence, better co-ordination and strategies in combating crime especially with the introduction of crime hotspots which have enabled us to better focus our manpower.
