Explosion at Petronas methanol plant

An explosion took place on Monday at a 511 million ringgit ($150.4 million) methanol plant owned by Malaysian state oil firm Petronas [PETR.UL] in Labuan, off the island of Borneo, a company spokesman said.

State news agency Bernama reported that the explosion, at the plant's controlled natural gas flare tip, caused no injuries, and that operations at the plant had ceased.
