L.P.G.A. Tour Will Put a Stop in Malaysia

The L.P.G.A. Tour plans to announce Monday that it will hold a title-sponsored event in Malaysia to replace a previously scheduled event in China.

The tour said the new event, the Sime Darby L.P.G.A. Malaysia, would be played from Oct. 22 to 24 at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club. The organization said it would continue to look for a title sponsor for the 2011 schedule for the L.P.G.A. China tournament, which had been scheduled for the same month. The substitution to the schedule does not change the 25 total events for 2010. The agreement to hold the Sime Darby Classic — the first L.P.G.A. event to be played in Malaysia — runs through 2012.
