Malaysian-born developer wins world’s best development award

A Malaysian-born developer’s multi-billion ringgit project in Greater Springfields near Brisbane was voted the world’s best development at a gala event in Bali on Thursday night.

Maha Sinnathamby, who is from Rantau in Negeri Sembilan, received the award from Indonesian Minister for Housing at the 61st World Congress of the International Real Estate Federation (Fiabci).

Fiabci’s Prix d’Excellence Awards is the annual accolade of prizes bestowed upon the world’s best developments.

“When we bought this 2,860ha of land almost 20 years ago and revealed that we wanted to turn it into one of Australia’s most remarkable developments, many dismissed it as a pipe dream.
