Malaysians spent RM2.75bil Down Under last year

Australia has become one of the most popular holiday destinations for Malaysians, who spent a total of A$903.5mil (RM2.75bil) on trips “Down Under” last year.

“There were 211,500 Malaysians visiting Australia, an increment of 24% from the previous year, making (tourism) the ninth-largest source of total expenditure for Australia,” said Tourism Australia general manager for South and Southeast Asia and Gulf Countries Maggie White.
