Porsche Club Singapore Racing (PCSR), winners in 2008, will start from pole for the third consecutive time in the 12-hour Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race (MMER) at the Sepang Circuit tonight.
Led by two-time Malaysian Super Series (MSS) Supercar champion Mok Weng Sun, the team clocked a total time of 6:17.346 around the 5.543-km Formula One track with Porsche works driver Richard Lietz posting the fastest lap time of 2:04.206.
Weng Sun, a veteran of the Sepang track, was the slowest among the trio in 2:07.626 as third driver Craig Baird, a multiple time Australian Porsche Carrera Cup driver, clocked 2:05.514.
They will be joined on the front row by the Arrows Racing Team trio of Malaysian Tunku Hammam Sulong and Germans Peter Kox and Christopher Haase, who had a total time of 6:18.666.
After winning the 2008 race, the Porsche Club team failed to retain the overall title last year despite starting from pole position.
