Redtone still waiting for further Wimax spectrum

Malaysian communications company Redtone International is still waiting for additional spectrum for its Wimax services. The company was told by the regulator to start the roll out in Sabah and Sarawak and seek further spectrum later, chief executive Zainal Amanshah told The Star. Other Wimax players that launched services in west Malaysia have been granted rights to expand into east Malaysia, but Redtone has not been told when it will be granted spectrum for peninsular Malaysia. Zainal said the company should be given a fair chance and be allowed to operate on a level playing field. "We were told when we got the spectrum that we should roll out services and appeal for the spectrum for the peninsula.
